Roger Ready For Anything After London Win…Hyeon Chung Is Next Gen Champion

Locker Room

November 13, 2017

An impressive Roger Federer beat Jack Sock 6-4, 7-6 in his much-anticipated opener at the ATP World Tour Finals in London – and then fired a warning to rivals such as Rafael Nadal.

Anyone who thought that Federer’s recent fatigue might be a sign of things to come had better think again.

The Swiss genius now feels as sharp and as energetic as he has done at any time during his incredible 2017 campaign.

He is ready to take on anyone – and that might not be good news for those standing in the way of Federer’s bid to end this amazing year on another high.

ENERGY

Once again, Roger has shown that he is superb at listening to his body and managing it carefully – with awesome results.

Federer explained: ‘I didn’t do much during the Paris week and I’m happy that I’ve been able to come out here in London and have good energy. This is the best I’ve felt since the Del Potro final.

‘Now I think I’m in the tournament. It’s just full steam ahead, for every match that comes.’

CONFIDENT

He was due to play Alexander Zverev on Tuesday, and then Marin Cilic, his fellow Wimbledon 2017 finalist, in his final round-robin match.

Federer’s super-positive  mindset and lasting physical fitness is great news for Wimbledon 2018 fans.

We can feel confident that the great man will not only play at his favourite tournament, but stands an excellent chance of winning Wimbledon once more.

Meanwhile Hyeon Chung claimed his first big title when he won the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan.

GLORIOUS

The 21-year-old  South Korean defeated Andrey Rublev 3-4 (5), 4-3 (2), 4-2, 4-2 to seize his first significant silverware.

Could Hyeon Chung be the Far East’s next tennis hero? Looks like it. And that can only be good for the balance of world tennis, as our glorious sport attracts new fans all over the planet.
